In my last post, I mentioned I had some exciting news (but we didn't want to let everyone know just in case things fell through) Well - They didn't! And we're now very proud owners of this beautiful Victorian house!
We have a LOT of work to do, and have been working so hard every night after work and on weekends. We still have so much more to do, but I'm hoping to be able to document the journey on here. The house is very much an empty shell at the moment, and we're both looking forward to be able to change it the way we want it to be. I'm a big fan of Victorian features - It reminds me of my grandmother's house.
I'm hoping to be able to share lots of exciting projects on here - I'm placing an order for some Annie Sloan paint as we speak...

Where have I been?

Where on earth have I been? Well, things have been a little hectic lately. I turned 25 last week, and spent a few days down in London to celebrate. My boyfriend had bought us tickets to go to the Harry Potter Studio Tour which was brilliant! I really highly recommend it, I've been wanting to go for such a long time.
Here are just a few photos of the day. I didn't take as many photos as I would have liked to. Basically it was absolutely packed there, there were queues forming in order to take photos next to things! But also because I really wanted to enjoy the experience as much as possible, without taking my camera out all the time.

In other news, things are moving on in life, and we're slowly making very big decisions towards building the foundations of our future - More to come on this subject soon!
I've also done something I would never have done before - I joined a class all by myself (which I'm pretty sure was also on my 'to do' list for this year!) It's a yoga class (also on this year's to do list!) I'm really enjoying being able to escape from day to day life for an hour each week and focus on myself. I'm really hoping this year will be a year of change, focus and happiness....

Santes Dwynwen - Gift Ideas

Tuesday, 21 January 2014
 photo st-dwynwen_zps510294e3.jpg

I love celebrating Santes Dwynwen! It's considered to be the Welsh equivalent to Valentines Day, celebrated on the 25th of January.
As the story goes...
Dwynwen fell in love with Maelon, but unfortunately her father had already arranged that she should marry someone else. In her grief Dwynwen fled to the woods, where she begged God to make her forget Maelon. After falling asleep, Dwynwen was visited by an angel, who appeared carrying a sweet potion designed to erase all memory of Maelon and turn him into a block of ice. God then gave three wishes to Dwynwen. First she wished that Maelon be thawed, second that God meet the hopes and dreams of true lovers and third that she should never marry. All three were fulfilled, and as a mark of her thanks, Dwynwen devoted herself to God's service for the rest of her life.

Llanddwyn Island is a very beautiful place to visit, and we're so lucky to be living near by. However, we'll be celebrating Santes Dwynwen on the Isle of Anglesey at our most favourite restaurant!
We're saving the pennies this year, but here are some lovely Welsh gift ideas if you're celebrating - I'm in love with Buddug's 'cariad' necklace!

I hope you have a lovely week, and weekend - whether you're celebrating Santes Dwynwen or not!

Things to Achieve in 2014

 photo 2014_zps92d46a29.jpg

Photos found on Pinterest / My own Instagram feed

Well, last year has been a great year. I went on two amazing holidays (one to Paris and another to Amsterdam), I went glamping in the mountains, I started going to the gym, I spent more time knitting and even set up my own club! I've been really thankful for 2013...

This year, I want to push things even further. I'd like to step out of my comfort zone a little, and start saying yes to the things I wouldn't have last year! I'd like to move on in life and build up a nice, happy little future for myself. I want to try out new things, visit new places and make new friends.

This is just a very small list of some of the things I'd like to do / achieve in 2014...

Start doing yoga
Relax more (worry less!)
Keep eating healthy
Drink one green smoothie each day for a whole month
Go to the gym more often
Spend more time at the beach
Drink more water
Own a gorgeous bike with a basket!
Travel to another country

I'm also intending on posting about the things I manage to achieve on here!

What would you like to do in 2014?

December Favourites

01
Fudge Violet Toning Shampoo

Having heard wonderful things about this shampoo, I decided to give it a go! I had recently dyed my hair at the hairdressers and received a bit of a lilac tint. This shampoo is perfect for topping it up! I try to keep this in my hair for at least 10 minutes in order to see proper results. To follow, I usually mix a little bit of fudge paintbox colour with my conditioner and leave it in for 5-10 minutes.
I highly recommend this product if you wish to have a bit of a lilac tint to your hair.

02
Tisserand De-Stress

I've recently blogged about this product, but it has to be said, it's one of the loveliest oils I've used. I'm a huge fan of using my oil burners, and this really helps create a relaxing environment after work or later on at night.
I'm hoping to purchase some more Tisserand products soon as they're so lovely. It really pays to invest in good quality oils!

03
This Works 5 in 1 Water

I purchased a smaller version as I was unsure whether I'd like this product or not, but I really really love it. It removes my make up well, and leaves my skin feeling fresh. Since I started using it, I've noticed I don't suffer from blemishes or spots as often as I used to. It really helps to decongest the skin.
It seems a little expensive for a cleanser/make up remover/decongestant, but it's worth it, even if you use it a couple of times a week.
I already need to re-purchase!

04
Bobbi Brown Eyeliner

I've been looking for a good felt-tip eyeliner for quite some time now. They always seem to dry out after a while. This one by Bobbi Brown is a bold black, long lasting eyeliner. It doesn't smudge or appear too watery. It takes some time to get used to applying it, but it's definitely worth the price tag for its quality and colour.

05
Rimmel London White Khol Pencil

I've recently been using this white pencil on my water line as it makes my eyes seem a lot bigger!
It's such a great tip!

Do you have any favourite products this month?

Nutcracker Crackers

Happy 1st of December everyone!
I'm trying to be a little bit more organised this year, and get most of the Christmas presents sorted at the beginning of the month! I've also been busy assembling these adorable crackers and filling them with lots of lovely treats, instead of the usual rubbish you get inside Christmas crackers. These were purchased from Not On The Highstreet last week. I just had to share them on here as I think they're really lovely. I'm hoping to do the same thing each year now, it's such a great idea.

I'm also intending on making some DIY mulling spices sachets you'll be able to drop into a saucepan full of red wine! These will probably be handed out to be opened before Christmas - We all love a nice mug of mulled wine to get in the Christmas spirit!
I'll be sharing all my DIY ideas with you on here, although I'm not sure how many projects I'll have on the go this year!

As usual, the weekend has gone by so quickly, and it's back to work tomorrow. I'm still suffering from this silly flu, I've developed an awful chesty cough and feel really worn out. I hope it'll go away soon.
Next weekend will be spent at local Christmas craft fairs and celebrating the one year anniversary of being with my boyfriend with a lovely meal out!

I hope you've all had a very lovely weekend

Tisserand De-Stress

Tuesday, 26 November 2013
 photo Tisserand_zps8bde9cb1.jpg

I've been eyeing up these little Tisserand oils for quite some time, so I decided to buy the 'De-Stress' blend to begin with. I'm a big fan of using my oil burners, I've actually developed a little obsession over them. Especially when the evenings are darker and much colder, it's always nice to light some candles and pour some oil into my oil burner. However, I've come to realise that buying quality oils to burn is a definite must.
This little treasure by Tisserand is a blend of organic patchouli, sweet orange and ylang-ylang. More than anything, I've found it extremely calming. I get stressed out over the smallest of things, my boyfriend is constantly telling me to calm down! This was probably the best one for me to start off with...
As I've been ill with the flu this week, this oil has helped relax and clear my head a little.
It's extremely calming, I just love how it fills my bedroom with a gorgeous and refreshing citrus smell!
It's also made me really want to try their other blends : Sleep, Head Clear and Seasonal Joy (sounds perfect for Christmas doesn't it!) Check them out here.

Tisserand also make little roller ball versions if you're not into oil burning!

I've also been eyeing up some cute oil burners on eBay recently - Great to give as Christmas gifts as well. My collection is slowly growing...

Have you tried any of the Tisserand oils? What do you think of them?
